About Urban Stove

How does Urban Stove work?

Urban Stove deliver fresh ingredients in the right porportions together with the cooking instructions so that you get to cook up healthy resaurant grade meals at home in approximately 30 minutes. We do all of the heavy lifting - from menu planning, to shopping for fresh ingredients, proportioning them and delivering to your doorstep. All you need to do is cook by following our cooking instructions (or recipe cards) and enjoy.

As we are currently on beta, we are offering meal plans for 2 adults only called 2pax Plan. In this plan, you are able to select 3 delicious recipes out of 5 in our weekly menu. We will then deliver these fresh ingredients with the corresponding cooking instructions in a single box. It is up to you when you want to cook.

We have plans to cater for families. We will launch this option in the near future.

Materials

1. What do I get in the box?

Your dinner box will be packed with fresh pre-portioned ingredients together with the cooking instructions for the 3 meals you have selected. The box will be insulated and will have ice packs in them to keep the ingredients fresh.

However we don't provide staple ingredients and the utensils that goes with the cooking as we assume you would already have them. What you would require in your kitchen.

2. Can I recycle my box/packaging materials?

Yes you can! we are working hard to reduce the use of plastics and other materials.

The Box

  • All our boxes are 100% recyclable.

Insulation

  • Our insulation is made metalised plastic and plastic bubble wrap.
  • These are recyclable.

Ice packs

  • Clip the corner and discard the gel.
  • Our water-solulable ice gel packs are non-toxic and non-hazardous.
  • We recommend putting the gel in the trash (it has no measurable environmental impact.)
  • You can recycle the plastic.

Meal Plans

1. What's on the weekly menu?

We currently offer 5 delicious recipes every week for the 2pax Plan (meals for 2 adults). We will introduce new recipes every week and while occasionally bringing back favourite ones.

2. What type of food do you offer?

We are working to introduce you a wide range of culinary deligts - from classic European, Middle Eastern, Indian, Chinese, Korean and right down to fusion creations.

3. Is your food halal?

We are currently pork-free however we are working towards our halal status.

4. Do you cater for dietary preferences?

This is something we are planning for when we are fully commercial. However, for now, we are not able to cater for dietary preferences.

5. What is the order size?

You are required to choose 3 recipes out of the 5 in our weekly menu. However to ensure that the pricing is consistent week in, week out, not all recipe combinations will be possible. Please refer to the Private Chef option if you require a more customised menu.

6. How do I change or cancel an order I've made?

Because we plan our meals in advnace, we require 6 - 7 days advance notice for any change in recipes or cancellation, depending on the delivery day you selected.

7. What is Private Chef?

This is our initiative to bring a better home dining experience by giving you the pleasure of customising your very own weekly menu. Private Chef will be launched soon.

Delivery

1. Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver within the Klang Valley.

2. What are your delivery days and time?

Currently our delivery days are Tuesdays to Fridays (excluding public holidays). We deliver to both residential and business addresses.

For residential addresses, you will have 3 delivery time slots to choose from:

  • 9am - 12pm
  • 12pm - 3pm
  • 3pm - 6pm

For business addresses, we only deliver from 9am - 12pm.

3. Are there delivery charges?

There will be no delivery charges. However, delivery charges may apply in the event that we need to redeliver the box to you. E.G, if you are away or uncontactable in the first round. To avoid delivery charges, please ensure that you are available during the delivery period.

4. Will my ingredients still be fresh during delivery?

The box will be insulated and will contain ice packs in them to keep the ingredients fresh. It will keep the ingredients fresh for the next 12 hours. We strongly encourage you to immediately refrigerate the ingredients when you are back home.

5. How can I update or change my delivery details after I have put in the order?

You can do this by signing into your account and editing this information in the Delivery Details tab. As we plan our meals and delivery routes in advance, we require you to make these changes early.

Change in delivery address and contact details:

  • Any changes must be made 7 working days before the delivery date.

Changes to delivery dates:

  • If you wish to change to a later or earlier date than the original, please provide us 7 working days notice before the original delivery date.

Managing Your Account

1. How do I log in?

After you have registered or signed up with us, visit the Homepage and click on the "Log In", located at the top right-hand corner of the screen. Once you have signed in, you will be in the User Account Management page.

2. How do I update my account and delivery details?

Once you have logged in, you can edit your profile and delivery details in the Account Details and Delivery Details tabs.
